Show stopper!!!!!!

“A man is a social animal” well if this saying goes to be true, then communication would be one of the most important factor to prevent a life of solitude. Everybody has a right to express their feelings and thoughts without stinting. The understanding between a parent and a child is one of the most important parts of the bond which they share; the sad part is that the gap is constantly increasing as you grow older. After being together for years, instead of being attached are you getting detached? Today’s generation has a completely different mindset and is more liberal then the past. The philosophy of ethics and morals differ from person to person and is one of the major reasons for the frequent fights and arguments. You may think that you know it all but, after all it’s the person who gave birth to you who’s more experienced and knowledgeable about today’s world. From the time you enter your teen age, your point of view towards things changes completely and you become more independent.

“Why do I have to be on a leash?” This is one of the most frequent questions which is asked and why do parents always have to be the joy killer for the all the fun. Today’s fun things which give the youngsters a thrill include smoking, drinking, driving vehicles, talking at late hours and more things which make a parents apprehensive about their child. All that the parents care about is if their child is in safe hands thus, they encourage them to have friends of their age so that their level of thinking and understanding things is similar and does not lead to any type of problem while, on the other hand we kids like to behave as if we are mature enough to choose our own friends and make our own decisions. Even if a parent tells his child not to touch a thing that is hot, the child will touch it until he is burnt and has his own experience. So the best way is to let children gradually develop a way of thinking which they feel is best for them. The main point which leads to a tremendous generation gap is that, youngsters envy their elders and want to do everything they see them do thus, this leads us into trouble as some things are supposed to be done at a certain age and time. Cases of teens doing rash driving and causing severe accidents are increasing and so are the cases of drug overdose. Sometimes, children should be given their own space. It’s amazing how we learn things which we have never been taught. Understanding your child’s feelings as well as sharing their problems makes them feel important as well as feel understood.

Sometimes underestimating a child’s skill or talent just because he’s not old or experienced enough to make his own decisions can lead to a major breech in the gap and lead to retaliation. Today’s youth like to feel equally important as adults. The gap can filled by letting the child realize after his own mistakes as, this would make the child know what should be done and what should not be done at his or her own pace. After all parents care for their children and don’t want them to get hurt, the generation gap depends on the method which is used to enforce the “Rules and Regulations” And these need to be done from the very beginning as a good start leads to a good Future.
