Actions speak louder than words. India is a very vast country. The Indian government tries to fulfill all the requirements of Indian citizen. India is developing faster than most countries. Its infrastructure, malls, buses, supplies, roads etc are growing… In a few years, India will have a status that no one would have thought ever. This is the result of teamwork between the government and the people of India.
Somewhere Indians are very independent and they believe in doing things their own way, this applies to traffic rules. It’s very common to see numerous traffic violations on Indian roads.
We as a people need to realize the importance of rules and regulations. Traffic laws are there to make the city roads stay safe and functional. If all commuters obeyed traffic laws, there would be a lot less accidents, road rage and injuries. Maybe the people of India do not follow rules because they feel like they can get away with it.
Many deaths and injuries are occurring only because of not wearing a helmet. Its only one accessory, which one needs to place on the head. It entails no extra time from life and it can protect you from loosing your head. If an accident occurs and the rider is not wearing a helmet, it can cause brain damage, memory loss, mental affliction and a very bad head injury too. Often it can be fatal. Incidents have occurred previously, and in the future as well, such unpleasant incidents are going to take place.
The Ahmedabad traffic police is trying hard to convey their message; however, a large number of people are not respecting their authorityo one feels up to follow them. Over the last five years, the government has done quite a lot to introduce and enforce helmet law. To this day, the Ahmedabad Traffic Police faces a lot of difficulties ensuring that every rider wears a helmet. I think it is so tragic when I see a roadside accident where someone suffers a fatal injury that could have been prevented by wearing a helmet. I urge everyone who reads this blog to pick up a helmet and wear it whenever they get on 2-wheelers… so you can live a long and secure life.
PLEASE WEAR HELMETS! IT PROTECTS WHAT’S WITHIN!
